ShowOFF Section at Photomonth in Krakow 2015

Recruitment is starting for the 7th edition of the ShowOFF Section at Photomonth in Krakow – a contest conducted for artists from Poland and Central and Eastern Europe who are debuting on the contemporary photography scene.

Both artistic photographic and multimedia projects can be submitted to this next ShowOFF Section. This year the curatorial team will comprise Marta Kołakowska (Gallery Leto) and three photographers: Michael Ackerman, Martin Kollar, and Igor Omulecki. From among the submitted applications they will select eight proposals, which will be presented in May 2015 in the form of exhibitions during Photomonth in Krakow (14 May-14 June).

An innovation in the 2015 ShowOFF Section is the invitation to Ania Nałęcka (Tapir Book Design) to cooperate, who will select the ninth winner in the Section. The prize for this person will be the opportunity to work on the design of their own book and its publication. This is worth remembering when submitting your proposals this year!

The ShowOFF Section of Photomonth in Krakow is in the form of an open contest. It acts as a platform for artistic freedom of expression and provides wide promotion of the most interesting young artists in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe.

The competition will yield eight exhibitions presented during Photomonth in Krakow 2015 and the premiere of a photobook designed by Ania Nałęcka.

You can send photo and/or multimedia projects, either completed or which are still ongoing. There are no restrictions with respect to subject or photos or video technique.

To submit your project, please send it along with the completed your Application Form by midnight on 18 January 2015 to the abovementioned address.
